Most PPO Insurance will cover New Power Chairs although certain rules and restrictions may apply. Please contact us or visit us for more details.
If American Mobility Center did not initially supply you with your Power Chair- purchased through Medicare, then the good news! Then next step is meeting with your doctor to obtain a written prescription with all the repair parts listed that are necessary to repair your Power Chair including your diagnosis. Medicare requires a doctor’s prescription for any repairs done NO EXCEPTION. The physician must also be registered with PECOS in order for Medicare to consider payment on all repairs. Your Medicare insurance information is required in order to verify eligibility and benefits. We do not accept Medicare HMO’s for repair.
Due to the changes Medicare has implemented effective July 1, 2013, we can only do repairs on Power Chairs that were purchased through Medicare and cannot supply any new power mobility, equipment or supplies. Any one with Medicare who wishes to receive a NEW Power Chair or any additional equipment or supplies, must contact the 1-800-Medicare number located on their Insurance card. You will need to ask Medicare for your county/state CONTRACTED competitive bidding provider and Medicare will direct you to the appropriate provider of service.
